Canary Watch: Greeno to Villa or Blackburn?

Former City ‘keeper Robert Green was linked with Aston Villa and Blackburn in yesterday’s Mirror:

Aston Villa and Blackburn have been alerted after talks to increase goalkeeper Robert Green’s salary at West Ham stalled last night.

Green is currently on £25,000 a week and wants parity with some of the big earners at Upton Park.

But with a new financial reality kicking in at the club, the Hammers are refusing to offer more money after giving Green a hefty rise last year.

If he does leave Upton Park it could be a nice little earner for us, what with a sell-on clause and all. I still can’t believe Green hasn’t been given more of a chance in the England set-up, but what do I know?

I reakky hope Villa get Green; he should be the next keeper to James for england.Hes better than carson by a mile.
