FA Cup Giant-Killings: Part Four

The FA CupThis coming weekend is one of the most anticipated of the football calendar – FA Cup Third Round weekend.

In this final part I’m going to take a look through the games taking place in the next couple of days and try to pick out some where I think we could see an upset:

Bristol City V Middlesbrough. City are riding high in the Championship and Boro are not exactly setting the Premier League alight at the moment.

Chasetown V Cardiff City. Non-league Chasetown have been preparing for their showdown with Cardiff by using Wolves’ Compton training ground, and as the lowest ranking side left in the competition how could you not put £1 on them?

Huddersfield Town V Birmingham City. League One side Huddersfield are 42 places below Birmingham in the league ladder, but have a better FA Cup record than the Blues, who have lost their last three on the road.

Ipswich Town V Portsmouth. You have no idea how hard it was to include this one, but Ipswich have one of the best home records in the country.

Stoke City V Newcastle United. Stoke don’t exactly play the best football in the world, but you’d put good money on them heaping the misery on Big Sam.

As far as the Canaries go, well you would like to think we’ll be ok against Bury, but you never know what’s going to happen – which is exactly why I love the FA Cup.
