Grant back in football with West Brom

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has appointed former City manager Peter Grant as first team coach at the Hawthorns.

I remember seeing reports linking him with that job as soon as a week after he left Carrow Road, but I guess that after ten months out of the game he clearly feels the time is right to get back into it.

Good luck to him I say. He was clearly out of his depth being the “number one”, but Grant has always been regarded as a very good coach.

Peter the pointer brought some absolute dross to City (Brellier and Strihavka anyone?), but his signings included David Marshall and last season’s top scorer Jamie Cureton, so it wasn’t all bad.
