JT – you can’t be serious?

Chelsea captain John Terry is the latest high-profile footballer to speak out against the hounding of referees.

Yes you heard me – Chelsea captain John Terry is the latest high-profile footballer to speak out against the hounding of referees.

This is starting to get silly now. What’s next – Ashely Cole apologising? Oh.

It’s about time our “top” professionals stop talking about the need to show officials more respect, and actually start doing it.

The giving of an instant red card for arguing or talking back to the ref would go a long way to sorting out the “bad” side of football.

It doesn’t matter if there decision is wrong or right – once that decision is made that’s it. And it needs enforcing.

Plus I’d like to see these prima-donna’s start calling the ref “sir” rugby style. It can’t hurt.

Football at its best (and I say this as a rugby fan) can be a beautiful game to watch but the ill discipline and “theatrics” has ruined it for me.
