Canary Classics: Norwich City 2 Ipswich Town 0, 7th December 2008

I know it was only, erm, yesterday, but it’s never too soon to watch highlights of this game… [youtube=]

Now that’s much more like it!

We’re hoping the Vital site will be back up and sorted in the not too distant future, but in the meantime I’ll continue to write here… Today has been a great footballing day for me. This morning my mighty Sunday league team progressed to the County Cup quarter-finals by beating previously unbeaten Sandy 4-1 (which […]

I think it’s what you might call ‘bad timing’

Since taking over editorial duties at Vital Norwich, I’ve rather left this poor little blog to pretty much fend for itself apart from the very good contributions Thomas Rooney makes each week, so on days like today it’s a good job we’re still here. You see if you happen to click on that Vital Norwich […]

Norwich v Ipswich preview and the lack of ‘derby day fever’

For the sake of the atmosphere at Carrow Road, I hope it is just me that feels this way, but the game hasn’t really crossed my mind during the week. As a result, I haven’t got that gut wrenching feeling in my stomach in the build up to it. Therefore, I’m not in the slightest bit excited. Is that wrong? It probably is.

Norwich City v Ipswich Town – Countdown to Derby Day 08/09

There’s almost six months until the first East Anglian Derby of the season, but already the YouTube videos have started. The music on this one is pretty shocking though, so you might want to avert your ears if you like anything you can tap your feet along to. [youtube=]

What we’ve learned this weekend: 12th/13th April 2008

We never should have released Danny Haynes. Damn, pesky, Haynes. Football can be very cruel sometimes. I lost my cup semi-final this morning, we lost the derby and then Manchester United beat Arsenal to pretty much wrap up the Premier League title. Rubbish.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our Norfolk dead. In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tractor; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, […]

Ipswich Preview

Sunday is the big one, the East Anglian Derby at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys welcome Pablo “the human shower” Counago back from his three match suspension for spitting and Shefki Kuqi, David Norris and Jon Walters may all return. Glenn Roeder reported no new injury worries ahead of the big game, so it’ll be […]

6 minutes and 29 seconds of YouTube gold

If you’re not up for the big game yet, watch this… [youtube=] What about now?

Hold the phone – the derby’s not on TV??

I’ve just found out that the derby on Sunday is not being shown on Sky Sports. Somebody, anybody, please tell me this isn’t so…

East Anglian Derby key battles: Fabian Wilnis vs. Darren Huckerby

With the big game less than a week away I’m going to spend a little bit of time looking at a few of the key battles for Sunday’s game, starting with the two most experienced derby players – Darren Huckerby and Fabian Wilnis. Both have been in and out of their respective sides this season, […]

East Anglian Derby: Six days and counting…

There’s less than a week to go until the East Anglian Derby at Portaloo Road, and as it’s the first derby since I started blogging ‘properly’ I’m going to dedicate a lot of space to it this week starting with this little gem I saw on YouTube. Getting excited yet? [youtube=]

Quotes of the Week: 6th April 2008

Canary boss Glenn Roeder reveals his admiration for Dion Dublin once again: He’s a great human being first and foremost and a great football player after that. I think he’s made the right decision to retire at the end of the season because I believe it’s better for really top players to go out while […]
